Fanie Fourie's Lobola is a South African comedy about an
Afrikaans man and a Zulu woman who fall in love and
have to navigate their way through the tradition of lobola
(similar to a dowry). Filled with humorous commentary,
the film is a contemporary fairy tale about love and tradition
in a rapidly evolving society.
In English, Zulu and Afrikaans, with English subtitles.
This screening is in support of LALELA, a charity that provides
educational arts to youth affected by extreme poverty.
