Commissioned to celebrate concord between the nations, Aida (1871) focuses on the war between Egypt and Ethiopia and the conflict between a soldier and a warrior. A work both flamboyant and hieratic, spectacular and intimate, and one of Verdi’s most beautiful masterpieces, Aida returns to the Paris Opera after more than 50 years.

There will be a 30-minute intermission between ACT I & II (93 min) and ACT III & IV (83 min).
