Description

Maysles in May: Honouring the life and work of Albert and David Maysles.

Filmed at Vladimir Horowitz's home in New York, this delightful documentary explores the private life and performing genius of the late pianist. Horowitz jokes, he plays the piano as no one else can, and talks about his favourite musicians including Sergei Rachmaninoff, Frederic Chopin and Alexander Scriabin. His wife Wanda joins in, sharing photo albums and reminiscing about their early relationship. Vladimir Horowitz: The Last Romantic is a tribute as much to the spirit of the man as his internationally acclaimed talent as a pianist.
