Description

The National Theatre of London continues its season with a new production of “A Streetcar Named Desire”, showing in Sedona on Thursday, Oct. 9. The Sedona International Film Festival hosts the big screen premiere of Tennessee Williams’ powerful drama from stage of the Young Vic Theatre in London. There will be two shows at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the festival’s Mary D. Fisher Theatre.

The fastest-selling production in the Young Vic’s history, Tennessee Williams’ timeless masterpiece “A Streetcar Named Desire” stars Gillian Anderson (The X-Files) as Blanche DuBois, Ben Foster (Lone Survivor) as Stanley and Vanessa Kirby (BBC’s Great Expectations) as Stella.

As Blanche’s fragile world crumbles, she turns to her sister Stella for solace. But her downward spiral brings her face to face with the brutal, unforgiving Stanley Kowalski. Visionary director Benedict Andrews returns to the Young Vic following his Critics’ Circle Award-winning Three Sisters.

“A Streetcar Named Desire” is garnering raves from critics and audiences in London and around the world, including 4- and 5-star reviews from every major publication in England.
