Description

Good things come to those who wait. The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour is coming to Sedona. This year’s World Tour showcases the very best mountain filmmakers, allowing you to experience the stories that inspire us to continue exploring our environments. The tour will make a stop in Sedona on one night only: Monday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at the Sedona Performing Arts Center.

The Banff Centre’s Banff Mountain Film Festival is the one of the most prestigious mountain festivals in the world. Hot on the heels of the festival held every fall in Banff, Alberta, the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour hits the road with stops planned in about 450 communities and 40 countries across the globe.

This year’s tour features a collection of the most inspiring action, environmental, and adventure films from the festival, and audiences across Canada, the United States, and internationally from Scotland to South Africa to China, Lebanon, Chile, New Zealand and Antarctica get to enjoy it all.

The 2015 World Tour is an exhilarating and provocative exploration of the mountain world, with films highlighting exotic landscapes and remote cultures, and bringing audiences up-close and personal with adrenaline-packed action sports,

From 372 films entered into the annual festival, award-winning films and audience favorites are among the films chosen to travel the globe.

Sedona’s tour stop will feature films such as:
Danny MacAskill: The Ridge - World renowned Scottish trials rider Danny McAskill returns to his childhood haunt for a new challenge: riding a mountain bike on the infamous Cullin Ridge.
Wild Women: Faith Dickey - Smile and laugh along with slackliner Faith Dickey as she showcases just how fun life on the line can be.
Delta Dawn - When water was released into the Colorado River delta for a short time, filmmaker Pete McBride grabbed his SUP to see what would happen at the beginning of a Delta Dawn.

Touch - A colorful and spectacular flying tour of Santorini in Greece, the Aiguille du Midi above Chamonix, and the Col du Galibier in France, with a bit of cheekiness added in.
Valley Uprising - The Golden Age - A journey through an amazing period in the climbing history of Yosemite.
Sufferfest II - Desert Alpine - Cedar Wright and Alex Honnold are back riding bikes and climbing towers.
Sun Dog  - It’s a beautiful day when gorgeous lines of untouched snow and your four-legged friend await the adventure.
