Description

Doc Soup: Hot Docs' monthly screening series that presents Festival hits and award-winning docs.

A thriller for the digital age, Zero Days tells the story of how two nations, the US and Israel, united to create a piece of malware (known as a “worm” for its ability to burrow from computer to computer on its own) to destroy part of an Iranian nuclear facility. To their shock and horror, the malware Stuxnet, grew into an uncontainable viral force, spreading globally across industrial control systems, wreaking havoc on the world’s digital infrastructure and operations. A modern twist on the classic theme of monster turning against its creator, it is a cautionary tale about technology, power, and the dangers of government secrecy in a new world of cyberwarfare.

Film subject Eric Chien will be in attendance at all screenings.
