The Documentaries of Demme (+1): A Tribute - We’re playing seven of our favourite documentaries by the great Jonathan Demme (with one special bonus).
Join us on Canada Day for one of Neil Young's most memorable performances caught on film. Heart of Gold has a particular poignancy for having been made after Young had undergone surgery for a lie threatening brain aneurysm. Jonathan Demme captures a special full circle moment in which Young harkens back to the bittersweet country origins that made him famous. Culled from two emotionally charged concerts at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium where he played his Prairie Wind album in its entirety, Heart of Gold finds Young at a crossroads that became a new beginning.
