Worth More than 1000 Words: Identifying and Caring for your Family Photographs
In collaboration with
the Lenape Tribe of Delaware Cultural Mapping Program and the National Museum
of the American Indian at the Smithsonian, University of Delaware undergraduate
senior in Art Conservation, Annabelle Fichtner, will host a hands-on photography
conservation workshop. Participants will learn to identify and best care for
the common types of photographs that may be in your family's collection. Rachel
Menyuk, Archives Technician from the NMAI, will also provide information on how
to access the museum’s archives for research and personal use. Pre-registration
is recommended and is free to the public in conjunction with the Biggs’ free
First Saturday program.
Event Update: Due to the government shut down, Rachel Menyuk from the NMAI will no longer be able to participate in this event, however, the event will still occur, led by Ms. Fichtner.
