Thank you so much for thinking of Monticello Opera House in this season of giving and celebration! By giving to the Opera House you are providing access to the performing arts in this rural and culturally underserved area, supporting historic preservation and restoration of this historic building, and stimulating tourism, jobs and the economy in this small town community and beyond.
Your funds will go to supporting our programming including our youth education classes like Shakespeare Live! which seeks to make this classic theatre genre accessible and fun. And our Season of Shows including important plays like The Diary of Anne Frank which educated the public about the history of World War II and the Holocaust, and the ever-popular Steel Magnolias, a celebration of life in the South and southern tenacity. And concerts! We recently hosted Britishmania, a remarkable Beatles tribute band that brought down the house!
We are stewards of a very precious legacy here at Monticello Opera House, which we believe is the oldest surviving theater still operating as a theater in the state of Florida. Thank you for your generosity and caring, and together we will continue this legacy for many generations to come!
