Virtual Illustration Workshop
Tuesday | July 25 | 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM EST


Award Winners XX Artist Mike Fleishman welcomes all skill levels into his digital studio. In this workshop, he will lead artists through three illustration exercises boosting participants’ creativity while exploring self-identity and expression in response to COVID-19 and quarantine.

Many of the materials may be found or supplemented at home, however, if you would like to pick up supplies from the Biggs Museum, you can preorder them for an additional $10.  Materials can be picked up on Friday, June 12 or by appointment with the Curator of Community and Academic Programs, Kristen Matulewicz by emailing kmatulewicz@biggsmuseum.org.

Supply List:

  • Cute Corona Cartoon Caricature

    • 4-5 pieces of 8 x 10” cardboard (or 1-2 pieces of illustration board)

    • Glue Stick

    • Good scissors to cut smoothly through cardboard

    • 2B pencil

    • Eraser

    • Drawing or Printer paper

    • Black marker

    • Tape, Velcro, adhesive magnetic circles, or hanging putty

       

  • Creative License

    • 1 piece of 8 x 10” cardboard or poster board

    • Glue stick

    • Good scissors

    • 2B pencil

    • Eraser

    • Drawing or printer paper

    • Black markers: Thick line, thin line, ultra fine, fine point, bullet, and chisel point.

    • Color markers: A set of pullet point sharpies or Crayola thin and think line.

    • Color pencils, crayons, oil pastel, or your favorite medium.

       

  • An Illustrator’s Treasure Hunt

    • 2B pencil

    • Eraser

    • 10+ sheets of 8.5 x 11 or 9 x 12 drawing or printer paper.

    • Black Markers: Thick line, thin line, ultra fine, fine point, bullet, and chisel point.

    • Color Markers: A set of pullet point sharpies or Crayola thin and think line.

    • Color pencils, crayons, oil pastel, or your favorite medium; OR you can work digitally.

Non-Members: $15

+$10 to include supply kit
