A woman in her sixties embarks on a journey through the western United States after losing everything in the Great Recession, living as a van-dwelling modern-day nomad.
Frances McDormand was awarded her third Oscar for this film, previously winnning for Fargo (1996) and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missourit (2017). Director Chloe Zhao took home the Best Director Oscar for Nomadland becoming the first woman of colour to win the award.
