This tour is limited to 30 participants and is a rain or shine event.
Shirley Harmon, Director of Operations
and Programming at Oxmoor, will give a walking tour of the outbuildings and
grounds of the estate. The group will carpool and tour the nearby Christian
Cabin and family cemetery before traveling to the Food Literacy Project site at
Oxmoor Farm where they will experience
a “field-to-fork” lunch featuring fresh-from-the-farm ingredients in the Food
Literacy Project’s outdoor teaching kitchen. Hosted by the Youth
Community Agriculture (YCAP) crew, the lunch and farm tour will invite you to
use all your senses to explore a working vegetable farm and meet young people
who are leveraging their power to cultivate health, justice and prosperity
through a community food system.
