The Sedona International Film Festival is taking its show on the road on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at The Wilde Resort and Spa for “Wilde Wednesdays” — an outdoor under-the-stars movie experience with “Movies on the Move”.
Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” will be screened in The Grove Fire Pit Garden at The Wilde Resort and Spa.
Prior to his untimely death, Jackson was in the midst of preparing for a series of sold-out concerts that were scheduled to take place in London during the summer of 2009. Behind-the-scenes footage, filmed between March and June of 2009, captures the pop superstar in intimate detail as he developed and rehearsed for the "This Is It" tour. The film is arranged by musical number with pre-recorded material and footage from Jackson's various rehearsals edited together to take us through what would have been the concert's set list.
In raw and candid detail, Michael Jackson's “This Is It” is the last documentation of Michael Jackson in action, capturing the singer, dancer, filmmaker, architect, creative genius, and great artist at work as he and his collaborators move toward their goals of London, the O2, and history.
Bring your lawn chair or blanket and relax in front of a massive outdoor movie screen. Enjoy food and beverage offerings from Chef Mercer Mohr and his modern diner restaurant, Rascal. If your sweet tooth catches you, enjoy S’mores around one of the four firepits. The festival’s mobile concession stand will have movie treats available.
The Wilde Resort and Spa is also offering local “Stay-cation” getaway packages with special room rates that include a room overlooking the garden and film, tickets to see the film, welcome amenities (red wine and a smores kit) and waived resort fee, plus early check-in and late check-out.
