Ryan Hood was born and raised in the small town of Royalston, MA, where he continues to reside today with his wife Katie and family. Starting at the young age of 5 studying piano, Ryan was a quick study under the expertise of renowned music teacher Janet Paoletti. Through his formative years, Ryan dedicated himself to practicing the piano, learning how to play trumpet, writing music and even began singing. Ryan played in a variety of school bands and culminated his senior year by collaborating on writing the senior class song.
After high school, Ryan followed a different career path that led him to the south. He was away from actively playing and singing for several years as he established his career and family. Once things settled down, Ryan played in a number of local bands including the highly regarded City Limits band. Ryan also began playing and singing in local churches, even leading worship teams as the years went on.
After several changes in his family life, Ryan returned to his roots of Royalston, MA and began working diligently on his first studio album “Coming Home”. While the overall studio experience was a good one, Ryan determined that he wanted to play for local venues on a regular basis and began working on a repertoire to support that goal. Years of practicing, hard work and establishing business contacts has led him to his current situation of playing hundreds of shows each year all over New England. At the time of the writing of this bio, Ryan is working on a video audition tape for The Voice. Ryan continues to play to audiences of all types, with a repertoire over 1200 songs strong. Playing the music of everyone from Frank Sinatra to Luke Combs, Bad Company to Taylor Swift, Ryan has truly found his groove and hopes to continue pleasing audiences for years to come.
