NAVMC in Sedona: FREE Event

Showings

Mary D. Fisher Theatre Sat, Sep 29, 2018 3:00 PM

Description

At the request of so many Sedona locals, NAVMC (Northern Arizona Volunteer Medical Corps) is coming to Sedona to share their story – both difficult and heartwarming – and everyone is invited.

This is an amazing adventure…  After a major earthquake devastated Haiti in 2010 Drs. John Durham and Kelly Reber traveled to Part-au-Prince with 30 volunteers to provide emergency hands-on aid.

The situation in Haiti only worsened when Hurricane Matthew struck in 2016. This past December Dr. Durham made his 28th trip to the island joined by orthopedists, anesthesiologists, nurses and aides.

At this truly interesting event Michael Collier will screen his short video My Brothers, Our Sisters followed by presentations from nurse Jessica Hanson and Dr. John ‘Bull’ Durham. Afterwards will be a question and answer period. Information will be available for those interested in volunteering, donating and/or spreading the word about NAVMC.org.

Yes, medical volunteers are needed and yes, NAVMC needs money to continue its humanitarian efforts in Haiti as well as Bolivia and Northern Arizona. There are many ways to support this cause.  Just your enthusiastic participation at the event will contribute.

Prepare to be inspired and uplifted during this brief program introducing you to local heroes. Dr. Durham is well known and admired in the medical community for his dedication, boundless compassion…and his humor.

Please join us on Saturday, September 29th at 3:00pm at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.

This is a free event. The only requirement for admission is compassion.
