SARAH MIRO FISCHER | GERMANY, SPAIN | 2025 | 97 MIN | GERMAN, ENGLISH
Fresh off a breakup, Rose finds herself adrift in the world. She turns to her older brother, Samuel, seeking companionship and a spot on the couch in his cramped apartment. Happily coexisting as roommates, the two quickly become inseparable, spending their days hiking, chatting, and, of course, partying. Late one night, Rose awakens to the confusing sounds of her brother and another woman in the apartment. When Rose is asked to come to the police station in connection with a sexual assault charge against Samuel, she is forced to reckon with what she may have seen and just how deep her familial bonds go. Featuring star-making performances from leads Marie Bloching and Anton Weil and laser-precise direction from first-time filmmaker Sarah Miro Fischer, The Good Sister is a powerful and undoubtedly self-assured debut that puts you intimately in the center of an impossibly tragic dilemma with no simple answers.
Cast: Marie Bloching, Anton Weil, Proschat Madani, Laura Balzer
