Join us for an
Evening with the Artist
Martin Graf
to view and discuss his photography exhibition: Witness to the Memory of Oradour - on display at the museum through mid-December in the Estelle & Stuart Price Gallery.

Oradour is a small town in Central France. In June 1944, SS troops heard a rumor that local partisans had captured a high-ranking Nazi officer. As a reprisal for this, the SS surrounded and seized the town and its residents. By the next day, they had murdered its nearly all its citizens - 642 men, women and children. Only six people survived this brutal action. Oradour was left in ruins, and never re-occupied. Today the old town stands as it was left. Graf has created a collection of haunting black and white photographs of the ruins of Oradour and the stories of some of its inhabitants murdered by the SS.
Join us to view the exhibition, meet the artist, and learn more about Oradour. Refreshments will be provided. This limited capacity event is free of charge but RSVP is required.
