Description

"Following Harry" joins Harry Belafonte during the last twelve years of his life, as the legendary artist and civil rights leader embarks on a deeply personal and reflective journey, while inspiring the next generation of entertainers and activists to disrupt injustice across the globe. Belafonte creates a blueprint for the future by demonstrating how love has the power to redirect oppression into oblivion.

Special guest Shari Belafonte — Harry's daughter — will be in Sedona to host the film and Q&A discussion along with director Susanne Rostock.

Shari Belafonte is the definitive renaissance woman. She's an award-winning actor, producer, director, singer, writer, spokesperson, photographer/videographer and film cinematographer, as well as a voice over artist for cartoons, documentaries and commercials. Shari’s face has graced hundreds of magazine covers worldwide including six Vogue covers.  She's currently recurring on AppleTV's hit show, “The Morning Show” with Jennifer Anniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carrell and Jon Hamm as well as recurring in Tyler Perry's hit series “Sistas” for BET.

She's a powerhouse behind the camera too. Creating numerous projects in both her production companies, Sowelu Entertainment and as a partner with her husband, Sam Behrens, for HighLife Aerial which provides drone and virtual touring real estate and architectural videography.

Shari now adds to her full resume a list of SAG-AFTRA duties. She is on the National Board, the local LA Board, she Co-Chairs the National Women's Committee, is a Vice Chair for the National and LA EEOC and is a member of the National Native American Committee and National Diversity Committee, as well as a voting delegate.

She first co-starred in the very popular Aaron Spelling series, “Hotel”. That led to her star turn on USA television’s “Beyond Reality” and numerous guest-starring roles in television, even today (such as “9-1-1” and “Station 19”), sit-coms, movies, dramas and feature films, along with several commercial assignments.
