When melancholic construction worker Dan finds himself drifting from his wife and daughter, he discovers community and purpose in a local theater's production of Romeo and Juliet. As the drama onstage starts to mirror his own life, he and his family are forced to confront a personal loss.

Keith Kupferer

Keith Kupferer is known for his roles in The Dark Knight (2008), Road to Perdition (2002) and Widows (2018). He was nominated in 2018 for a Joseph Jefferson Equity Award for Performer in a Supporting Role in a Play for "Cal in Camo" at the Rivendell Theatre Ensemble in Chicago, Illinois, and again in 2017 for Supporting Actor in a Play for "The Mystery of Love & Sex" at the Writers Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. Originally from Millerton, Keith currently lives in Chicago with his wife Tara Mallen & daughter Katherine Mallen Kupferer.


Tara Mallen

Tara Mallen is an actor, director, and the Producing Artistic Director at Chicago's acclaimed Rivendell Theatre Ensemble. Her screen credits include Steven Soderbergh's Contagion, and the indie Fools, as well as TV appearances on BOSS (Starz), Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. (NBC), the pilot Doubt (CBS/Sony), and Sense8 (Netflix). She was most recently seen in the 2016 Superbowl commercial "The Longest Chase" for Toyota Prius. She is a Jeff Award winner and multiple Jeff Award nominee.


Katherine Mallen Kupferer

Katherine Mallen Kupferer made her professional stage debut in Chicago Shakespeare Theater's acclaimed production of Gypsy, and her major motion picture debut in Steve McQueen's Widows, and played Gretchen Potter in the 2023 film Are You There God, It's Me, Margaret, alongside Kathy Bates and Rachel McAdam.


Michael Rhodes

Michael Rhodes is the Artistic Director and co-founder of Tangent Theatre Company in Tivoli, NY. Acting credits include Constellations, Lobby Hero, Circle Mirror Transformation, The Vandal, The Good Father, Doubt, Waiting for Godot, Wanderers, the NEWvember New Plays Festivals and many pub-readings. He directed Sight Unseen and The Zoo Story, as well as numerous readings and NEWvember plays for Tangent. Acting credits elsewhere in the region include Good People, Circle Mirror Transformation, God of Carnage, Looped, The Dangers of Electric Lighting, Transatlantic Tales (AboutFACE Ireland), The Quiet Execution of Frank L. Teal (Storyhorse Documentary Theater) and the American Premiere of Edward Albee's Three Tall Women.
