Crooked Path Productions presents Jill Van Brussel

Why Do I Own a Thong? (And Other Existential Questions) is an original work written and performed by Jill Van Brussel, a costume designer and professor of theatre. In a one-woman show that combines performance art, slam poetry, and traditional cabaret, Van Brussel explores memory, self, identity, relationships, but through the medium of clothes. Why Do I Own a Thong? (And Other Existential Questions) is a sharp, witty and moving journey through the whys of what we wear.

JILL VAN BRUSSEL is Assistant Professor of Theatre, Costume Design at Colorado Mesa University. She received a MFA in Costume Design from Purdue University and has designed costumes and props in Chicago area theatres, including Light Opera Works, Northwestern University, Blindfaith Theatre, and Theo Ubique (where she received a Jeff Award Nomination for Taming of the Shrew).
