Godfrey Cheshire is an award-winning film critic, journalist, screenwriter and filmmaker based in New York City. His writings on film have appeared in publications including the New York Times, Variety, Newsweek, the Village Voice, Interview, Film Comment, Sight & Sound and Cineaste; he currently writes for RogerEbert.com. His first film as writer-director, a documentary titled Moving Midway, was named one of 2008's ten best films by the L.A. Weekly and New York magazine.
