It's All in the Family: Peale Family Virtual Tour

Tuesday | November 3, 2020 | 6 PM - 7 PM

James Peale and his nephew Raphaelle Peale initiated the first school of still life painting in the United States, establishing a tradition that spanned the 19th century and had a lasting influence within the Peale family into the 20th century. The Peale family of artists included multiple generations of both male and female artists. Although they are most known for their still lives they were also accomplished miniaturists and portrait painters.
