Description

Join the Arizona Historical Society on Thursday, January 21 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. for a conversation with artist Thomas “Breeze” Marcus. Breeze will discuss his exhibit Current State, a collection of works that explore Breeze’s personal experiences and identity as a part of the Akimel and Tohono O’odham communities. Breeze will also talk about the border wall impact on traditional Huhugam and Tohono O'odham Lands.

 

The exhibit Current State is currently on view at the Arizona Heritage Center in Tempe. Displayed in conjunction with cultural artifacts and stories, the exhibition showcases how history, cultural heritage, and identity influence contemporary works. The Arizona Heritage Center museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 1300 N. College Avenue in Tempe, AZ. 

 

Suggested donation $10 per person.
