1934 • Laurel and Hardy
A long-time Christmas tradition at Old Town Music Hall, as it was a personal favorite of founder
Bill Field. The film is a musical fairy tale based on Victor Herbert's 1903 operetta,
Babes inToyland, which was adapted to suit the comedic talents of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. With
an odd blend of comedy and great music, the comic duo portray two endearing toy factory
workers who need to help out their landlady, the old lady who lives in the shoe.
