How was the Ohio Valley changed by the experience of Depression and war? What new possibilities and challenges were on the horizon as a new chapter of American history opened in 1946? Business, industry, housing, race and gender roles, education, and the role of government in American life all experienced profound change. How was our region fundamentally reshaped after soldiers and civilian war workers returned home? Tune in to the online sessions of this conference on October 22 and 23, and attend the virtual keynote, "The Year of Peril: America in 1942" by University of Kentucky Professor Tracy Campbell on October 22 at 6:00 p.m. The virtual conference will continue on October 23.
