Directed by F. W. Murnau
• Live Accompaniment by Robert York on the Mighty Wurlitzer •
A command repeat performance of Robert York’s gripping, live pipe organ accompaniment of this
horror classic. Director F. W. Murnau originally wanted to make a film based on Bram Stoker’s
Dracula but couldn’t get the rights. So Murnau changed the name to
Nosferatu and ended up making this masterpiece of German expressionist cinema. Bram Stoker’s estate sued and the courts ordered that all
copies of Nosferatu be destroyed. Fortunately, a few prints survived and solidified the F. W. Murnau’s
recognition as a true innovator of silent cinema.
