Join us every 3rd Sunday of the Month for our Story to Screen series, presented in partnership with The Savoy Bookshop & Cafe! Enjoy story time with The Savoy at The United, then we'll watch a movie on our Main Cinema based on the book we read!
This month we'll be reading and watching Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs!
Story time begins at 10 am--you can choose to stay for just the reading or for both (until about 1pm). Each Guest will receive a small popcorn and water with their ticket. The Savoy Book Store will also have a table on site selling the book that we read that day!
This event is open to all ages however this is a Youth program, and suggested ages are based on each movie.
ABOUT: Flint Lockwood thinks he's a genius. But none of the things he invented are things that make sense or are useful. However, he has the support of his mother but when she dies, he's left alone with his father who thinks he should give it up. When the community that he lives in is in an economic crisis because their primary source of income, a sardine cannery, was shut down, Flint decides to try his latest invention, a machine that can turn water into food. But something goes wrong and the machine ends up in the atmosphere. Later it starts raining food. The shifty mayor tries to use this as a way to help their community, but when Flint senses something wrong with the machine, the mayor convinces him to ignore it. However, as Flint predicts, chaos ensues.
