Kids Love Opera! Performing Gioachino Rossini’s La Cenerentola

Wednesday May 18th at 7:00PM.

Salt Marsh Opera is performing in partnership with Raylynmor Opera Company in Keene, New Hampshire, Simon Holt Conductor, Ben Robinson Stage Director. 

Based on the fairy tale Cendrillon by Charles Perrault, and composed by Gioacchino Rossini, La Cenerentola (Cinderella) is loved by audiences around the world. This production features an adaptation and new English translation by Raylynmor Opera’s Artistic Director Ben Robinson which sets the action in the couture fashion world of Milan. Shortened to a one act, hour-long running time, the story focuses on a promising young fashion designer (Cinderella), who is under the thumb of her wannabe couturier stepfather and aspiring-model stepsisters. She meets Ramiro, head of a prominent Milanese fashion house, and ends up showing her revolutionary designs as part of his fashion show. This production is accompanied by piano.
