As part of the pre-fest celebration, we are excited to host the annual Pitch Competition put on by the Baltimore Filmmakers Collective. Come pitch your big idea to an enthusiastic crowd and compete for cash prizes!

As part of the pre-fest celebration, we are excited to host the annual Pitch Competition put on by the Baltimore Filmmakers Collective. Come pitch your big idea to an enthusiastic crowd and compete for cash prizes!

Competition Format
-- Each registered participant will be given 90 seconds to pitch a film, web series, or television concept. Your time starts after you state your name, genre, and title of your pitch.

-- Each pitch will be judged by experienced local judges.

-- Immediately after each pitch judges will tally their votes. Judges may or may not decide to give verbal feedback. At the end of the competition judges will decide  the top three contestants.

 

Prizes
1st Place: $500
2nd Place: $300
3rd Place: $250


Judging Criteria
-- Originality - Was the idea original?
-- Concept - Was the concept stated clearly?
-- Character - Were the characters clearly stated?
-- Presentation - How was the overall presentation?

Restrictions
-- No teams (Solo pitches only)
-- No assisted pitches meaning props, notes, cell phones, audio/visual assistance should be used in the pitch

Registration Details
Register online by sending a request to Eric Cotten at mindseyecinema@hotmail.com with a subject line of “Pitch Competition Request”.


On the Day
-- Arrive 30 minutes early and check in at the desk in front of theater 3 (Early check-in is strongly encouraged due to covid capacity limitations)
-- Be respectful of all contestants, before, during, and after their pitch.

 

Baltimore Filmmakers Collective is a Baltimore based 501 ( C ) (3) organization focused exclusively on charitable support, education purposes, skill training and promotion of the greater Baltimore film community.
