In an otherworldly e-waste camp made of recycled computer parts, a
subversive hacking collective attempts a takeover of the authoritarian
regime exploiting the region's natural resources--and its people. When
an intersex runaway (Neptune, played by both Elvis Ngabo and Cheryl
Isheja) and an escaped coltan miner (Matalusa, played by Kaya Free) find
each other through cosmic forces, their connection sparks glitches
within the greater divine circuitry. With hypnotic visuals and original
songs composed by musician and co-director Saul Williams, this celestial
cyber-musical offers a radically bold vision of power, exploitation,
and love.
What the critics are saying:
A heady, visually stimulating, sci-fi musical extravaganza... Neptune
Frost pulsates to a rhythmic beat and the musical sequences are
fabulous. So too, are the makeup and costumes (one character sports a
jacket made from a disassembled computer keyboard).
An Afrofuturist musical that's both a queer love story and a call to
action, this is a great example of art that's revolutionary in form as
well as subject.

Transmitting a massive download of ideas into one film, there's no doubt
that Williams and Uzeyman have creativity to spare, and they deserve
all the support they can get to share it with the world.
