After more than 25 years of commissioning and premiering music for saxophone quartet, Montreal’s Quasar are known around the world for their dedication and verve. Their performances often involve storytelling and dramatic elements, including improvisation, playing from within the audience, and incorporating electronics. Tonight, their program takes us from a Canadian classic by Claude Vivier’s to a brand new work, written specially by a Dalhousie composition student.
