Join Wave Cage and Caleb "The Negro Artist" Rainey for a special cross-genre event. The show will feature music from Wave Cage's upcoming collaborative album, Even You Can See in the Dark, as well as performances of Caleb's favorite poems with live musical accompaniment from Wave Cage.
Wave Cage's debut project, The Portrait EP, was described by Little Village Magazine as "an engaging, atmospheric, beautifully produced, and humorous recording". Caleb "The Negro Artist" Rainey's debut book, Look, Black Boy, became Amazon’s #1 new release in African American poetry, and was awarded first prize in the North Street Book Prize. His second book, Heart Notes was published in 2019. In 2020 and 2021 he was named Best Poet/Spoken Word Performer in Cedar Rapids & Iowa City by Little Village magazine.
