Now in its ninth year, Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. gathers people in remembrance of a great leader to reflect on the values he stood for and renew commitment to peace, community, and social justice. For 2023, the event will direct attention to Dr. King’s exhortation, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” with a focus on environmental justice. Keynote speaker Aaron Mair, a prominent environmentalist and environmental justice activist, recent past president of the national Sierra Club, and the Club’s first African-American president, will address “Shades of justice: building a diverse and inclusive environmental movement.”
Performances by Jaffrey-Rindge school choruses are also featured. A reception and exhibit follow the ceremony.
