1937 • Produced by Walt Disney-
Walt Disney’s visionary masterpiece was produced at a time when cartoons were considered to be
short films. People thought Disney was nuts to invest in a full-length cel animated (hand drawn)
feature film. But the gamble paid off, and the rest is history. It is still considered by many to be the
greatest animated film ever made; certainly, the most influential for its impact on the film industry. On Sunday, May 21st, our 2:30 matinee will be introduced by Eric Smoodin, professor of American Studies at UC Davis. Smoodin is the author of several books, including “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” (British Film Institute, 2012). After the conclusion of the Sunday performance, he will stay for an informative mini-lecture and Q&A from the audience. All are welcome to attend.
