“Love don’t make things nice, it ruins everything."
Whether you're pro or anti-Valentine's Day, there's simply no better movie choice for February 14th than Norman Jewison’s tale of melancholy and longing.
Determined to end a streak of bad relationship luck, Loretta (Cher) reluctantly agrees to marry her unremarkable beau Johnny (Danny Aiello). She also takes charge of reconciling Johnny’s relationship with his estranged brother, Ronny (Nicolas Cage) who, as it turns out, is a hot-headed, coal-shovelling, aria-loving, crazy-eyed baker with one hand. Under the glow of an absurdly large full moon, Loretta and Ronny get lost in a passionate tango of words and must determine, before Johnny’s inevitable discovery, if it’s the real deal or if they've simply been…moonstruck.
Winner of three Academy Awards and on basically every "best rom-com" list ever, Moonstruck will have you singing "That's Amore!" all the way home from the theatre.
