Art Talent Show

Set in busy college hallways, eager wannabe art students engage in a rigorous set of tests to gain admission into a prestigious Czech art institute. The students must traverse through performance-art pieces, stumble over large installations, and sit through critiques and interrogations about their work. Directors Adéla Komrzý and Tomáš Bojar follow the professors through the bureaucracy of higher education admissions from selecting the test themes to interdepartmental decision-making meetings. With a sharp eye and fly-on-the-wall approach, Art Talent Show cleverly captures the amusing and frustrating moments in academia through the art-school enrollment process and raises questions about modern art as well as how to assess skill versus talent.
