Temporality and timelessness collide in a live improvisation by the artist Charles Stankievech in the planetarium dome. Marshalling both subterranean and cosmic noise, the work invites viewers to meditate on deep time, deep space, and deep listening. “The Glass Key (Domus)“ comprises original field recordings of solar rays (crackling within the earth's ionosphere), hydrophone recordings of Arctic ice, water rush within Yucatan cenotes (created by a meteorite impact) and echoes within Lanzarote's volcanic calderas. Originally commissioned for James Turrell’s Tree of Light at Hacienda Ochil, Merida Mexico.
