Our free onsite Contemporary Youth programs help inspire young people through the exploration of contemporary art, connecting them to community, global, and social issues that affect all of our lives.
This workshop is aimed to empower the youth through an exercise of self-exploration. Inspired by the photographic series Prefix, 2016 by Farihah Shah, the youth are asked to use tea stains to express instances of feeling unwelcome or left out. Through a process of painting with tea bags, we address common cultural misconceptions and stereotypes in a process of healing and empowerment.
