Description

Join us with SOAR for our March Movie That Matters: Patchwork.

West Virginia is known for the drug crisis, but substances are only one part of this crisis–the continued personal, social, and economic impact of this crisis on the lives of West Virginians is a failure of comprehensive, longterm, and holistic support.

Patchwork is a short documentary that examines the social, psychological, and material impact of the opioid epidemic in West Virginia by following people on the ground – the advocates, social workers, leaders, and health professionals trying to address the crisis and stories of families moving through the disjointed systems. Without governmental investments and political will–individuals, families, and advocates struggle to fill the gaps in a broken system. This individual and community labor represent a patchwork of collective effort and toil.

Tickets are “Pay What You Can” online or at the door for both screenings.

Following the film, we'll have a discussion with members of SOAR and the filmmaking team. More information on SOAR can be found at www.soarwv.org.
