Saving Private Ryan (1998) is a powerful and evocative World War II epic dealing with the value of life and the personal toll that war takes on one's humanity, as a group of 8 soldiers battle impossible odds to save the last surviving son of a family that has already lost 3 in action. Tom Hanks leads a star-studded cast through some of the most realistic combat scenes ever brought to the big screen.

The Sturgis Cinema Circle seeks to engage audiences with the experience of seeing classic films on the big screen while enjoying an expanded understanding of the film's cultural and historical significance through a featured post-show conversation hosted by the director of the Sturges-Young.
