Description

CHEVALIER, WITH A SPECIAL PERFORMANCE BY THE LEXINGTON PHILHARMONIC STRING QUARTET

On Sunday, April 23 at 2PM, the Lexington Philharmonic String Quartet will perform two short works by Joseph Bologne at The Kentucky Theatre prior to a screening of the recently released film Chevalier. Tickets for this one-time film and music event are $15 (student tickets are $10).

Chevalier is inspired by the incredible true story of composer Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. The illegitimate son of an enslaved woman and a French plantation owner, Bologne (Kelvin Harrison Jr. in a tour de force performance) rises to improbable heights in French society as a celebrated violinist-composer and fencer — complete with an ill-fated love affair and a falling out with Marie Antoinette (Lucy Boynton) and her court.

SUN, APR 23 @ 2PM | $15 regular admission / $10 students (please present a student I.D. at the door)
