AFIRE (ROTER HIMMEL)
Leon and Felix arrive at a small vacation home on the Baltic coast with plans to spend the summer on creative pursuits. For the pessimistic Leon that means working on his evasive second novel. When they arrive they find unexpected guests: the beguiling Nadja and her partner Devid. As the four navigate how to be housemates, Leon becomes more frustrated with his work and, mysteriously, the trees around them quite literally begin to burn. From German auteur Petzold (UNDINE, TRANSIT), AFIRE—winner of the Berlinale’s Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize—is a wry examination of creativity, desire, and jealousy. Film Center exclusive. Screenings followed by pre-recorded Q&A.
