Leona Stevenson is confined to bed and uses her telephone to keep in contact with the outside world. One day she overhears a murder plot on the telephone and is desperate to find out who is the intended victim. This film stars Barbara Stanwyck and Burt Lancaster, and was originally released on September 1, 1948. Stanwyck was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress, and is considered a classic of the film noir genre.
