In tonight's recital,
Toronto pianist, writer and podcaster Luke Welch shares the story and the
magnificently virtuosic music of African-British pianist, conductor, and
composer, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. Renowned on both sides of the Atlantic at
the turn of the 20th century, Coleridge-Taylor was admired by figures such as
Edward Elgar, President Theodore Roosevelt, and W.E.B Du Bois.
