Crescendo!150 Years of Music in Sturgis, Michigan is a one-hour documentary celebrating our history of music. Starting with early pioneer days through today, small- town Sturgis has a rich musical heritage.





From late 19th century parlor music to the dance bands of the 1930s and 40s,  Crescendo! doesn't miss a note. Creator, Mike Mort, includes such historical groups as the Stacy bands, the Electric City Band, the Elks Symphony and contemporary groups such as the 16th Avenue Band, the Helmsmen Quartet and the Sturgis Wind Symphony.





Crescendo! is the seventh film in the Windows To Our Past series featuring the history and culture of Sturgis, Michigan. Funding for these documentaries is provided by the Sturgis Historical Society, the Sturgis Area Community Foundation, the Newell A. and Grace A. Franks Fund within the Sturgis Area Community Foundation, and the City of Sturgis.
