The Boy and The Heron
From the mind of animation auteur Hayao Miyazaki comes The Boy and The Heron, an evocative tale about life, death, and the power of friendship. Living amidst the ravages of World War II in Japan and haunted by his mother’s tragic death, young Mahito relocates from Tokyo to the calm countryside estate of his new stepmother Natsuko, who happens to bear an uncanny resemblance to his deceased mother. As Mahito attempts to adjust to his new home, he is troubled by the presence of a persistent gray heron. In pursuit of his mother's ghost, Mahito embarks on a journey into an unknown world shared by the living and dead accompanied by the mystifying gray heron.
