After two decades, the arthouse sensation Amélie returns to cinemas to remind us of the whimsy of love. Daydreamer Amélie (Audrey Tatou) works as a waitress in a Montmartre, Paris bar where she intensely observes others and vividly imagines their inner lives. Bored with passive observation, Amélie dedicates herself to helping others find happiness, and devises extraordinary stratagems to solve the problems that interfere with their lives. Amélie’s mission to aid others is interrupted when she meets Nino Quincampoix (Mathieu Kassovitz), a bizarre young man who matches her eccentricities in his own charming and befuddling ways. French director Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Delicatessen) transforms Paris into Amélie’s fantastical playground in this classic romantic comedy.
