SUN, MAR 24 | FREE
2:45 — Dr. Landon's final organ performance at The Kentucky
3:00 — A brief ceremony in recognition of Dr. Landon's service
3:15 — The film begins
You might not know him by name, but if you've ever been to a Summer Classic movie at The Kentucky you know him by sound! For more than 20 years, Dr. John Landon has entertained our patrons with his brilliant and enchanting organ playing at Summer Classics films and, more often than not, at Wednesday and Friday matinees year-round. Now, just as he turns 87, he's decided it's time to retire. We're heartbroken but we could not say goodbye without a fitting tribute to his decades of volunteer service to The Kentucky Theatre. Please join us for this special memorial film tribute. The event is free and open to the public. We'll kick off the afternoon with Dr. Landon's final performance here, followed by a brief recognition ceremony, and then a one-time-only screening of the always delightful Singin' in the Rain.
