Adapted from the eponymous novel by Bonnie Jo Campbell, Once Upon A River is a rousing tale of grit, healing, and freedom. In 1970s rural Michigan, Indigenous teenager Margo Crane (Kenadi DelaCerna) sets out on the Stark River in search of her estranged mother after the untimely death of her father. Out on the water alone, Margo encounters friends and foes, beauty and danger, while contemplating the path forward in her life.
