Tel Aviv, 1998, summer vacation. Nine year old Reut and her older brothers are staying at the house of Grandpa Haim and Grandma Shifra, Holocaust survivors, for a week of fun.
When Reut secretly finds and reads the notebook her Grandma wrote during the Holocaust, she can't get the stories out of her head. At lunch, at night, and even at the Park, she sees young Shifra trying to survive, by train, in a selection, in a labor camp, and in Auschwitz. In her mind Reut accompanies Shifra, who fights for her sister's life without success, and Reut's perspective on her grandmother changes forever.
In this stunning combination of Live Action and Animation, a young director takes us back to her childhood experiences with her own grandmother, whose Holocaust diary she discovered in a hiding place one summer.
